The Team....

Well for those of you who don`t know what is going on here.........here it goes. The team is in financial trouble right now. They pay a lot of money a year for our ice time and youth hockey. In Germany, the Pro team pays for the ice of the junior team, and youth hockey. It costs our team 80,000 Euros a year for this icetime. They want some help from the city for the expenses. Two weeks ago they wanted the city to buy our ice rink and help the team. It was do or die for the organization. Well, we died! But the city said they would give us 30,000 Euros for next year. That didn`t help out and we were close to going bankrupt. Now the ownership is pressing for that money this year in advance so we can make it through the year. The meeting for this is on Tuesday. If the city says no, we are done. Home for Christmas! Not neccessarily but it doesn`t look good. Please pray for us because financially for Jess and I we need the year to finish. It will put us in good shape and eliminate most of our student loans. We need to stay! Anyways, our fans have been great. They are true hockey fans and have been picketing and petitioning for the last month. Below are some pictures. The first one is at city hall. 700 fans came to this meeting in jerseys, scarves, etc. They booed politicians when they spoke and cheered those for the team. Pretty funny! Anyways, this is them below right behind the last row of politicians. I was waiting for a strangulation!
This is the march to city hall by the townspeople and fans. About 700 fans walked down the main street with a police escort blocking traffic.
This is the last homegame. Everyone in the crowd had sparklers to show unity in their support. Really neat and Jess was a little teary eyed.
